The Center for Governance and Markets (CGM) seeks advanced doctoral students for PhD research fellowships for the 2021-2022 academic year. The ancient Greek word for public spaces is agora - a place for assembly.
The Agora Fellowship provides one year of funding to PhD students at the University of Pittsburgh interested in governance of the public sphere - including governments, markets, and the voluntary sector that lies between market and government and includes nonprofit and nongovernment organizations.
Fellows will attend CGM workshops and seminars. They will be contributing members to the CGM research community, contributing to center research initiatives.
To apply, candidates should send a research statement, current transcript, and cover letter indicating how the candidate can contribute to CGM research initiatives to firstname.lastname@example.org. Candidates should have advanced to candidacy or have finished their coursework. Due to the challenges presented by COVID-19, we are waiving letters of recommendations for the application cycle this year. In lieu of letters, we ask applicants for the names of two references at the University of Pittsburgh.
