CGM Welcomes Sophia Sanders as Assistant Director

The Center for Governance and Markets at the University of Pittsburgh has brought on Sophia Sanders as Assistant Director. Sophia has more than a decade of experience in grantmaking nonprofits including serving as a Director of Operations and Programs at Stolen Youth, and most recently, a Senior Program Manager for the Eastern Congo Initiative. Her research interests include gender equity, non-governmental organizational leadership, and civil society governance in post-conflict societies, especially in East Africa. She earned a Master of International Development from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh with a focus on Governance and International Public Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Economic Development from Seattle University.

We are fortunate to build on her extensive management and field experience as we seek to develop and expand our programs in Pittsburgh and around the world.
