Center for Governance and Markets Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Center for Governance and Markets is accepting applications for Postdoctoral Research Fellows beginning in September 2022 for a one-year appointment, with a possible extension for a second year. The postdoctoral researcher will play a significant role in advancing the mission of the Center, which is to understand how individuals and communities overcome barriers to peace, prosperity, and well-being in the United States and around the world. CGM achieves its mission by producing cutting-edge research, dialogue with policy communities, and through community engagement.

CGM is interested in interested a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from any relevant discipline in the social sciences (e.g., economics, political science, sociology, public policy, public administration, anthropology, etc.) who can contribute to any of our initiatives. The Fellow will conduct their own teaching and research and participate in the Center’s activities, including our weekly Policy and Political Economy Workshop. The candidate is also expected to support CGM’s mission through policy dialogues as well as community engagement.

The Center’s initiatives also include research projects on alternative governance structures, property rights, blockchain and internet governance, and polycentric perspectives governance, among others, as well as speaker series and seminars.

Candidates should have a strong background in a relevant social science discipline. Fellows must have received their PhD within the past three years. Salary is competitive. In addition to a CV, candidates must submit at least two confidential letters of reference and a writing sample. Applications should include a cover letter describing how their research fits within the mission of the CGM.
