Aditi Upadhyaya

Aditi Upadhyaya is the Center for Governance and Market’s Global Partnerships and Research Manager. As an H.J. Heinz Fellow 2021-2023 from the Global Studies Center, she was and continues to be committed to understanding development and governance across the world by focusing on bottom-up policies to strengthen self-governance and sustainable community-driven development in underprivileged societies.

Prior to joining CGM, she served as a Student Research Associate at the CGM where she assisted the team in establishing The Afghanistan Project, an international hub for Afghanistan related research and policy work.

Upadhyaya holds a master’s degree in international development from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School for Public and International Affairs. Her geographical region of focus is South Asia and her recent work studies post-conflict federalism in her home country of Nepal. This research explores the extent to which institutional reforms have been successful in solving the country’s decades-long civil conflict and its long-term impacts.
