Ahmad Shah Mobariz

Ahmad Shah Mobariz is a postdoctoral associate at the Center for Governance and Markets. Dr. Mobariz completed his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Arkansas in 2022. He specializes in applied microeconomics and development economics with a focus on economics of education. In his current research, in context of Afghanistan, he studies policies and programs that affect enrollment and performance of students from disadvantaged communities and women in higher education. Previously, Dr. Mobariz served as a Senior Economist for the Ministry of Finance in Afghanistan. He is also a research board member for Porsesh Research and Studies Organization (PRSO), a Kabul-based policy think tank that seeks to raise attention to underrepresented and marginalized groups in Afghanistan.
